The Civic Leadership Academy Curriculum Application Process

To be eligible, a student must be attending high school in the state of Florida (including graduating seniors) over the age of 16 by July 1 or at least entering their junior year of high school in the fall.

The application includes the following components:

  1. The application, which includes a one page essay.
  2. A current high school transcript.
  3. A letter of recommendation from a teacher.
  4. A recommendation from your school Guidance Counselor.

Program Details

Tuition

  • The cost of the Civic Leadership Academy is $1,250.
  • Tuition is applied directly to the costs of housing, meals, field trips, and extra-curricular programming costs.

Scholarships

  • Scholarships for program tuition are available. Potential applicants are strongly urged to apply regardless of financial concerns. If you are selected to participate, we will make possible for you to attend. For more information on financial aid, please click here.

Credit

  • All students earn three graded dual enrollment credits for participation in the program and completing written assignments.

Dates

  • The 2009 program will take place July 11th to July 25th.

Location

  • Students are housed on the grounds of the University of Central Florida with program staff. Students spend most of their time on the University grounds, but there are some field trips and social trips away from the University.
